Congratulations to our very own Mr. Johnson ... so well-deserved!! A favorite here at the ALC, Mr. Johnson is loved and respected by faculty, staff and students. Thank you for all you give to our school every day.
"Four years ago, I was new to the ALC, but I wasn't alone in joining the staff that year. Close to my classroom was another newbie, far less experienced in formal teaching, but far more experienced in his topic of choice. He was nervous and admitted he felt over his head. I gave him a few pointers, but mostly, he was on his own.
His nerves were unwarranted, as his stories of experiences in the Air Force and in the Santaquin Police Department quickly engaged and fascinated his students. They know he's the real deal-sharing authentic experiences with students who are considering careers in criminal justice. He brings in real guests-from both sides of the law, to answer their questions and share their life experiences. His students adore him!
Now in his fourth year at the ALC, his ease in teaching his subject and connecting with his students would never let an outsider guess he has only been teaching since 2022. It is with great respect and admiration that we give this Crystal Apple to this year's winner, Kris Johnson."
