In kindergarten we are learning how to spell words by listening to each sound in the word and putting them in the correct order!

We are so grateful for our amazing PTO for providing our Falcon Fun Room—a place where students are rewarded for good behavior, kindness, and great attendance! 🦅

Mrs. Marzan’s 2nd grade class had a wonderful surprise this week when Remi’s grandpa, Tom Holmoe, stopped by for a special storytime! Mr. Holmoe, who worked at Brigham Young University (BYU), delighted students with a festive Halloween story and an inspiring BYU tale about Cosmo the Cougar. The students loved hearing his stories, asking questions, and sharing what they were going to be for Halloween. Thank you, Mr. Holmoe, for making reading time extra special — and for reminding us that great stories can bring everyone together!

These lucky Falcons were chosen for the PrinciPAL’s Lunch Club for October! How cool is it to have lunch with the principal?

These Falcons were celebrated today for having perfect attendance during Term 1! Thank you for showing up every day, ready to learn, grow, and SOAR!

Congratulations to our Falcons, whose teachers chose them for the kindness they show to others!

This month, Foothills Falcons learned what it means to be a supportive friend!
Each grade explored friendship in their own unique way:
Kindergarten students learned that people can have more than one friend.
First grade read Splat the Cat and discussed how to be supportive.
Second graders discovered that supportive friends show empathy.
Third grade added ingredients to make “Friendship Soup.”
Fourth grade played Heads Up Seven Up to recognize positive friend traits.
Fifth grade had a contest to brainstorm adjectives that describe a good friend; the winners even got to use Mrs. Brindley’s Skittle machine!
Our Falcons are learning that being a supportive friend means showing empathy, kindness, and encouragement. And today, we honored our October Falcons of the Month; students who consistently show what it means to be a true friend! 🦅

In First Grade, we just finished up our “Different Lands, Similar Stories” unit!🌎📚 Students created posters to illustrate the story settings, and then we practiced retelling the stories by acting them out! We had so much fun!

Second grade students recently learned about the Chinese New Year celebration. They participated in a fun end of term party where they worked together to color a large dragon. They also got to eat Ramen noodles with chopsticks and have fortune cookies.

Today was Pie a Teacher day! 🥧
Students voted with their money all week long, and the teachers with the most money in their jars got pied! The lucky students who earned raffle tickets for great behavior got the chance to do the pie-ing. It was messy, hilarious, and so much fun!

🍂 The end of Term 1 is coming up on October 15th! Fall Break will be October 16th–20th, and we hope all our Falcons enjoy a fun, safe, and relaxing break. You’ve earned it!
